Mechanical Engineer - Columbus, Ohio

Screen Machine Industries, Inc. is seeking an entry level Mechanical Engineer to join our existing engineering team. We are a successful company with top rated engineers designing and manufacturing construction equipment.  Our engineers work with both hourly and salaried individuals throughout the design process.  Screen Machine Industries, Inc. holds some of the most desirable patents in our industry.  This exciting career opportunity allows engineers to see their design challenged immediately as they are implemented in real-world processes. Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.  The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who possesses qualities such as honesty, perseverance, confidence, and professionalism. The position is located within our Corporate Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Detailed Position Requirements

- Prefer candidates who have a demonstrated interest in mechanical systems. Examples of hands-on application of engineering theory through technical projects, hobbies, or other experience strongly desired.
- Require Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for candidates without professional experience.
- Require fundamental understanding of: Statics, Dynamics, Hydraulics, and Strength of Materials.
- Familiarity with the following beneficial: Auto cad, Solid Modeling (especially Solid Works).
- Familiarity with shaker screens, trommel screens or conveyors helpful.

Work Description & Key Responsibilities

- Lead / support the development and modification of Screen Machine Industries, Inc. products, components and subsystems to ensure the continual improvement of all products, reduction in manufacturing cost, and increase in sales through product tailoring for specific customer needs. Projects will expose engineers to all aspects of the engineering including: Design, Testing, Manufacturing, Assembly, Quality, and Service.
- Manage projects from concept through production to customer end-use.
- Conduct machine and component evaluation and redesign to enhance new and current products.
- Reduce cost of components & subsystems through the application of design and  new technologies.

Degree/Major Requirements: Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
