Quality/Lean Manager


The Quality/Lean Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a quality assurance program that promotes customer satisfaction and positively impacts the financial performance of the organization. Assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards, testing materials and product. Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the company’s products, operations and processes. This position reports to the VP of Operations.


  • Create, implement and manage in-process product inspection standards and processes
  • Develop and maintain quality requirements and standards for product line
  • Establish product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement to improve KPIs in the areas of customer relations, finance and quality
  • Initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g. Kaizen events) to raise the performance of the company’s product lines
  • Build and maintain a Lean Training Program for the organization
  • Serve as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee all Product Support and Warranty personnel and functions
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses
  • Develop and execute plan to monitor supplier components for equipment, and establish warranty plans for parts and labor of defective parts
  • Works closely with VP of Operations and HR to determine hiring needs and make hiring decisions for quality and product support personnel
  • Responsible for training of all newly hired quality and product support personnel


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required
  • Lean certification through an accredited organization required, with at least 2 years’ experience coaching and leading process improvement teams
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated experience with lean principles and implementation
  • Demonstrated knowledge in process/production flow
  • Knowledgeable of standard safety practices and environmental standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong people management and motivational skills
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills, with experience in various problem-solving techniques and quantitative analysis
